The Church today faces issues that have always plagued the Body of Christ since the first Church in the book of Acts. The characteristics that Paul writes about in 2 Timothy 3:1-9 and 1 Timothy 4:1-2 describe the evil times that are also very evident today. The list below provides some additional key issues that our Christian Churches are facing that emphasize the need for leadership to take Spirit-led, proactive steps to address. Through prayer and God’s grace and divine power working within His Church, individually and corporately, each of these issues can be addressed both in wisdom and in His love. * Having a weak or non-existent prayer life * Lack of godly discipleship models/mentors for young adults and new believers at all ages * Lack of daily personal Bible study and knowledge about the relevancy God's Word to one’s everyday life; thus, resulting in no personal life-application * Confusion about salvation due to little or no follow-up after initial Gospel presentation * Lack of knowledge concerning spiritual warfare and the need for each spiritual armor that God has given to believers (Eph. 6:10-18) * Growing number of people inside the church who are burdened and chained to addictive sinful lifestyles and do not know how to be set free in Jesus. * Growing harm from deceitful people within the Church with intentions to divide and confuse true believers * Increased numbers of individuals leading without compassion and love for one another * Increased number of false teacher-led churches preaching another Gospel other than the Gospel of Salvation and the true Good News of Jesus Christ from the Bible * Lack of community outreach with the Gospel message and not seeking to learn the true social and spiritual needs of its surrounding communities and cities * Lack of godly wisdom and discernment * Growing number of virtual small groups rather than in-person, home groups due to growing security concerns * Increased lack of modesty * Growing number of mental illnesses due to physical and/or emotional abuse, as well as holding onto anger and unforgiveness * Increased need for privacy and security of personal data * Lack of accountability at all levels of church leadership * Lack of teaching about the significance of corporate communion or the associated Biblical warning to taking communion in an ‘unworthy manner’ and without self-examination (1 Corinthians 11:23-34)
